Introduction |
Thanksgiving Address - Our Love and Thanks to the Natural World is based on the Iroquois Thanksgiving Address which dates back over 1,000 years. Today the Thanksgiving Address is still spoken at Iroquois ceremonial and governmental gatherings. The Address is based on the premise that it is important to recognize the many gifts in one's life. The students put a lot of time into creating their own Thanksgiving Address. A great deal of care and thought was put into identifying the things that the children are thankful for. The children worked hard to express their ideas in the best way possible. We hope you enjoy reading this special book. |
